Coming Soon: Contextual, Individual Reports

Putting your risks (and opportunities) in context

Happy Saturday!

I hadn’t planned to write over the weekend, but this was too good not to share…

No matter how many country reports and stability assessments I share, you still need to put these into context.

  • What does this mean for us specifically?

  • Is this different from the last few weeks?

  • How exposed are we?

You still need to conduct the final part of your risk assessment yourself before you can decide what to do about the situation.

But not for much longer….

Contextual Reporting

Soon, you’ll be able to set your sensitivity or exposure to a factor (say, a country) and DCDR will produce a customized risk and opportunity report.

Here’s a screenshot from the prototype

(🛢️ Oil? 🚢 Shipping? Yes, commodities are going to be included in the reports soon.)

This is a set-it-and-forget-it feature: confirm what’s important to you, assess your sensitivity / exposure, and DCDR does the rest.

Then, instead of having to do your own contextual analysis, the model will do the first stage yourself and send you a customized report like the one above.

But what does that report mean?

In this example, we can see that there’s a small opportunity with respect to shipping costs, but that’s shrunk over the last 30 days.

Meanwhile, the risk in Nigeria, where there’s greater exposure, has dropped a notable amount in the same period.

So all we’re doing is putting things into context. After all, DCDR can’t tell you what to do next: that’s for you and your leadership team to work out.

But it has told you that these are factors worth looking at, so you can get to work on these a lot faster than you could otherwise.

How much faster?

Well, compare getting a report like this to the alternative. Normally, you need to:

  • Read the news and analysis reports to identify what’s relevant to you

  • Assess your exposure to these factors

  • Determine the direction things are moving

  • Decide which events need attention

After all that then, you're ready to get your decision-makers together to dericde what to do and take action.

But with these DCDR reports it’s much more straightforward.

Get your customized report

Assemble your decision-makers

Take action

So, much, much faster.

DCDR app subscribers will be getting access to this in the next week or so. If you’d like to try this for yourself, head to dcdr.io where you can start a free trial.

(And while you’re there, you can check out the new site design.)

Have a great weekend!
